Who am I?
I am an outdoors enthusiast with itchy feet and a restless spirit.
Travel has been my biggest passion for as long as I can remember, and I have been fortunate enough to have travelled the world. I’ve experienced deserts, tropical islands, jungles, mountain plateaus and wildernesses, and have marvelled at many of the stunning natural and man made wonders of the world. Thirty years in the travel industry has enabled me to combine my passion with my work.
Walking and climbing has been a huge part of my life for decades, both at home and abroad. I lived within a hair’s breadth of the Peak District for several years, but the Lake District has my heart. I love woodlands and moorlands, valleys and dales, cliffs and coastlines, but It is in the mountains that I feel most at home; in my element.
Horses have been obsession from the age of five when I learned to ride, as were big dogs needing lots of exercise who have been companions throughout my life. I ride, cycle, swim and wild swim, run, kayak and camp, and derive great pleasure from photography and writing.
This website is the culmination of an outdoor life accompanied by words and photos which I hope might inspire others to enjoy everything the wonderful outdoors has to offer.
